How to spot a fake perfume
This guide is a first draft and will be expanded. Pourfume doesn't verify or guarantee authenticity.
1. Batch codes
The code on the bottle and on the box should match. Look for codes that are printed sharply, not smudged or stuck on.
2. Atomizer and dip tube
Original sprayers sit straight and feel solid. The dip tube is usually thin and almost invisible in the juice.
3. Cap and logo
Caps should fit snugly. Logos and letters should be crisp, centred and the same font as the brand uses.
4. Glass and label
Look for even glass without bubbles, and labels with no typos or blurry print.
5. Price
A rare or discontinued bottle at a very low price is a warning sign.
6. Ask for more photos
A real seller will happily send another angle or a short video. Report the listing if something feels wrong.
